ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Jeremy Robbins is Executive Director of the American Immigration Council. He helped build the New American Economy think tank and advocacy organization founded by Michael Bloomberg, was policy advisor and special counsel in the Office of New York City Mayor, a judicial law clerk on the United States Court of Appeals, a Robert L. Bernstein International Human Rights Fellow working on prisoners' rights issues in Argentina, and a litigation associate at WilmerHale.
Amy Peck is a principal in Jackson Lewis P.C.’s and co-leader of its Immigration Group. Omaha-based, she is a nationally recognized attorney advising employers on navigating complex, ever-evolving immigration compliance focusing on practical, risk-reducing solutions, including proactive Form I9 compliance and guiding employers through ICE enforcement actions and raid preparedness, Social Security NoMatch issues, and EVerify use. Peck is a longtime trustee of the American Immigration Council with service as chair of its National Verification Committee.
Akosua Meyers is a nonprofit leader and strategic resource builder whose work is grounded in lived experience and a longstanding commitment to community. As a youth, she pushed through a violent period as a Ghanaian living in Liberia. Her career has spanned hunger relief, anti-poverty advocacy, workers’ rights, immigration, neurodivergence and inclusivity.
Suchi Mathur is a Senior Litigation Attorney with the American Immigration Council, where she works to protect the rights of noncitizens through affirmative litigation and practice advisories for immigration attorneys. She also defended migrants-rights in Mexico and represented ICE-detainees as an attorney for The Bronx Defenders. Mathur also spent a year clerking for a federal magistrate judge in New York.
Jeremy Robbins is the Executive Director of the American Immigration Council. Previously, Jeremy spent more than a decade building New American Economy, the think tank and advocacy organization founded by Michael Bloomberg to make the economic case for smarter immigration policies, as NAE's first and sole Executive Director. Prior to that, Jeremy served as a policy advisor and special counsel in the Office of New York City Mayor, a judicial law clerk on the United States Court of Appeals, a Robert L. Bernstein International Human Rights Fellow working on prisoners' rights issues in Argentina, and a litigation associate at WilmerHale in Boston, where he was part of the firm’s team representing six Bosnian men detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Amy Peck
Amy Peck is a principal in Jackson Lewis P.C.’s Omaha office and co-leader of its Immigration group. A nationally recognized attorney, she advises employers on navigating complex, ever-evolving immigration compliance, with a focus on practical, risk-reducing solutions. Her work includes proactive Form I9 compliance — training, audits, risk assessments, and system reviews — as well as guiding employers through ICE enforcement actions, raid preparedness, Social Security NoMatch issues, and EVerify use. A trusted authority, she is frequently quoted in national media and speaks nationwide on worksite enforcement. Amy also serves on the Board of Trustees of the American Immigration Council and previously spent 12 years on the AILA Board of Governors, including serving as chair of its National Verification Committee.
Akosua Meyers
Akosua Meyers is Chief Development Officer at the American Immigration Council, where she leads strategic fundraising efforts that advance the organization’s mission and growth. Previously, she served as Director of Development at the Center for Law and Social Policy and spent nearly a decade as Deputy Director for Institutional Advancement at Jobs With Justice. With more than 20 years in the nonprofit sector, Akosua has built and diversified funding streams while raising visibility for organizations working at the intersection of social and economic justice. Her commitment to this work is deeply personal, shaped by her experience as an immigrant to the United States.
Suchi Mathur
Suchi Mathur is a Senior Litigation Attorney with the American Immigration Council, where she works to protect the rights of noncitizens through affirmative litigation and practice advisories for immigration attorneys. Before joining the Council, Suchi worked at a migrants-rights organization in Mexico. Previously, she was an attorney at The Bronx Defenders, where she represented individuals incarcerated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in federal petitions and in Immigration Court. Suchi also spent a year clerking for a federal magistrate judge in New York.
